Historical Foundation

The Ursuline Centre Historical Foundation, Inc. (UCHF) is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organization entrusted with the preservation and restoration of the historic Ursuline Academy – now known as the Ursuline Centre.

Since 1997, the Foundation has worked in close partnership with the Ursuline Centre Board to safeguard the Ursuline Centre and advance the enduring legacy of the Ursuline Sisters in Great Falls and across Montana.

What began as a bold commitment to preservation has grown into sustained, careful stewardship. In 1998, the Foundation launched a capital campaign with an initial goal of $1.5 million to address critical building needs. Through the generosity of donors and the strength of the community, that effort surpassed expectations, raising more than $2.5 million in gifts and pledges to date, including $492,000 designated to the Endowment Fund.

These investments have supported essential improvements throughout the building, including structural repairs, energy efficiency upgrades and significant enhancements to plumbing, electrical systems, and overall infrastructure. Each project has been undertaken with respect to the building’s historic integrity and a clear vision for its continued use.

The Ursuline Centre has been standing for more than a century. The work of the Foundation ensures it will continue to stand with purpose, integrity, and care – for generations to come.
